The event town of the north
Piteå entices with something for all ages and tastes. The town hosts annual events attracting many thousands of visitors as well as smaller local events. Pite Havsbad stages one show after the other. Star performers like WeiWei and Barbara Hendricks are just a couple to have performed in Studio Acusticum, one of Europe's most modern and world class concert halls. In Piteå you find the large arenas are supplemented by the smaller.

Pite havsbad
Pite havsbad är en småort i Piteå kommun som ligger vid Bottenviken cirka 10 km sydost om Piteå vid Piteälvens utlopp invid en kilometerlång sandstrand.
Historia
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Havsbadet började med en kiosk och några enkla campingstugor på talet. På talet hade Pite Havsbad under tre år i följd Sveriges varmaste badvatten, och fick i samband med detta benämningen Norrbottens riviera.[4]
Vid hotellet invigdes år ett stort äventyrsbad.
Samhället
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Pite havsbad är en av Sveriges största camping- och konferensanläggningar. Hotellet har över rum. Campingen är bara öppen på sommaren men anläggningen i övrigt är öppen året runt.
Havsbadet
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Sandstrandens nordligaste del är avsedd för naturister. Före detta kupolbiografen Akva har byggts om till ett upplevelsecenter och heter numera Skeppet, där man fortfarande erbjuder kupolbiograf under sommaren, plus ett antal andra attraktioner såsom minigolf, biljard m.m. Intill detta finns en utomhusbassäng med vattenrutschbanor. Vid hamnen finns Strandfyren (invigd ) som har relaxavdelningar med bastu för grupper.

Pulling in tourists from around the country, Pite Havsbad is the main beach resort along Sweden’s northeast coast. It’s a major attraction during the summertime, when families arrive to splash around on the two beautifully sandy beaches that stretch north along the coastline.
The resort itself is around 10km south of Piteå and has a bit of a holiday camp feel to it, with a huvud hotel building, plus red wooden bungalows and loads of pretty pitches for tents and caravans dotted among the tall pine trees.
It’s a massive complex, set around a tropical-themed indoor vatten park with five flumes and a sun terrace that’s bathed in artificial sunlight – a welcome treat if you’re here outside the main summer season.
Apart from the pool, Pite Havsbad has a spa offering all manner of coconut-scented body scrubs and massages, plus a huge, American-themed restaurant that puts on cheesy music shows (think Abba tribute acts). There’s also a kids’ club with its own bowling alley, a recording studio, an adventure playground and a ball pool.
