    With the confirmation of dealership with Sweden’s HEDÉN Talamas has engaged in a partnership that will provide greater integration of the film technologies it offers customers, as well as a welcome point of service for HEDÉN’s gear.

    Since July , Dave Talamas, founder and president of one of New England’s largest rental/sales houses of technology for film, TV and broadcast, and HEDÉN Sales Manager, Jonas Andersson, have been discussing a partnership. “One of the reasons they contacted us is that we’re also a MōVI dealership,” Talamas explains, “and they wanted to provide better customer service for their clients by having US dealers who can provide products and service domestically.”

    History

    The company was founded in by Björn Hedén while working with the Hasselblad Company and the development of the now legendary HASSELBLAD C. The intention was to design and construct high quality camera equipment. Together with cinematographer Albert Rudling, Björn Hedén developed a motor and a control-unit that controlled zoom, focus, and iris for film cameras.    

     

    During the following years, Hedén products became a standard in the film industry when zoom, focus, and iris control became vital parts for film cameras. In , Björn was nominated for a technical Oscar® for his works. Around , a new line of motors came out. They featured a patented planetary ball gearbox that made them incredibly strong, fast, precise, and quiet. In , the revolutionary ZF control handle was released.
